Nate Abels

“My artwork is influenced by a sense of place, geographic transitions, and the organization of both public and private space –presenting the human habitat primarily through landscape-based imagery."

Nathan Abels is a transplant to Denver from Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He has been an active member in the Denver arts scene since his arrival in 2007 - showing in numerous solo and group shows.  Abels has exhibited nationwide, most recently showing in a two person show at Now Artspace in Denver and part of two Plus Gallery sponsored group shows in the fall and winter of 2007.  Abels continues to establish himself in the Denver area through his evolving work. He uses suburban environment, extended commutes and reliable routines as motifs to describe a sense of place.  The works of Nathan Abels are empathetic reminders that isolation is a substantial human experience and that content lies in places we typically overlook.
